Khongboon Swimwear Athens Review

A few of you may have seen by now the ads on facebook for Khongboon Swimwear, the latest swimwear brand to take the internet by storm. I've managed to get my hands on one of their bikinis and it's no ordinary bikini that's for sure.

Named after her creator Supaporn Khongboon and inspired by travels to far away places from the beautiful beaches in Thailand all the way to now Canberra Australia you can find Khongboon swimwear everywhere. Supaporn was unable to find the perfect bikini so she created her own.

It's the perfect statement for any woman screaming 'look at me, i'm chic, elegant and playful,' and it's also been recognised in Vogue and Glamour Magazines - seriously as if you aren't Googling Khongboon now haha.

With both the top and bottom of every set being reversible it makes it really easy to mix and match pieces while giving you something fun to work with. A 4 in 1 bikini.I follow them on Instagram to make sure I don't miss out on any new arrivals and you can too following the link here.

I picked out the Athens in a medium. It will set you back $98.00 but it is totally worth it. For a limited time only you can also get free express worldwide shipping if you make a purchase of $120.00 or more.

It's super comfortable and I would be able to spend a day at the beach without worrying about the waves knocking it off. In fact, I haven't taken it off since it arrived in the mail this morning. The handmade in Thailand top features three bands in the middle of the front which pull in and a little bit of padding allowing for some sexy cleavage while still leaving lots to the imagination. The halter design of the top also gives a fair amount of support for the ladies too which is always really nice.

The cheeky but innocent Brazilian butt bottoms let the sun hit more of your booty helping you work on your tan. They are the best part to wear reversible (orange side out)  for me because I can wear a pattern top to give the illusion of a bigger bust.

I absolutely love the edgy geometric design, it's so out there compared to what i'm used to (it fits in with my new years resolutions of being more out going).
Here's a quick look at the size chart directly from their website.

If you still aren't sure about sizing, flick the customer service team an email at info@khongboonswimwear.com. There are plenty of other styles to chose from as well ranging from high waisted, to bandeau to a cheeky one piece. If you are also a different size top to your bottoms there is an option to buy separates or just the one piece on its own.

I love my Athens bikini and I can't wait to get more!!

    1. let me know how you go with swapping your size over! i'm usually a 10 in bottoms and an 8 in tops with most other brands. If it helps i also weigh about 53kg too and the mediums fit me pretty well, if i were to lose weight though i don't think they would fit. I just ordered myself a second one ($115 later ugh so expensive) there's a few other brands that i will be posting soon that have very very very similar styles - like im talking near identical styles to khongboon, and they are cheaper too!

    2. I wear a 34C/32D in bra size? Would you recommend a med or large in a top?

  5. Just FYI - I got the ORENSE top in white from them and when I received it, the top was see through (not sure about the bottoms because I only got a top). They made me pay for the return shipping and wouldn't ship express despite the fact that I had already waited 2 weeks for the original package. Because of this, it won't be here in time for the event that I originally bought it for. No returns either - just exchanges, or I would have returned it. On a positive note, I did like the fit of the top and they did ship my exchange as soon as the original top was sent (they didn't have to receive it first). However, I left a review on the top that it was see through (2 star) and it appears they screen reviews on their site because it's not showing up. I guess I should have been more suspicious when every single review on their site is a 5 star. Sorry I also would have just posted this on their site but they screened me. When I was first looking at their store, this is the only place I saw an actual review from, so hopefully someone sees this before they order anything white.

Anyway, yours looks cute on you!

  6. Hey! Thanks for takin the time to comment.
I'm sorry your experience was awful. I can totally get where you are coming from with the white material being see through - I was concerned about this so I went with patterned material to avoid the transparency. I've left reviews of 5 stars on their website too when I was happy with my purchases and they never got approved either, I think someone is just lazy. If you are based in Australia you can purchase from Lets Get Funked Up and the shipping time gets cut down massively to a more reasonable time!

  8. Hi! Love the bikini! I want to order one but am nervous about ordering the wrong size. Can I ask what bra size you normally are and what jeans size for reference? Thank you!

    1. Hey there!
I'm usually a 10c bra and 6 waist and 8 in the hips in jeans. I went with the medium and it fit more like an 8-10 on the bigger side of the size.
I'm trialling a small when it comes next month.
They have an easy returns policy if you do end up with the wrong size too!

  9. Do you guys think that if i ordered the Pune style one with a slight yellowy orange you'll be able to see the padding through? I ordered the a white bikini top and had the exact same problem! Hoping to avoid the same situation again.

    1. I think the yellow should be okay, I'm looking at getting one of those too.

  10. I was given one of these a few months ago and they definitely do not stay on at the beach.. any kind of wave and its off! Not just the bottoms either - the top is liable to move as soon as the surf comes even close. I was very disappointed with these as I'm a beach goer, prob perfect for the pool though.

    1. I ended up getting smalls in the rest of my khongboons and I took them to the Philippines to go scuba diving. Mine stayed on no dramas, it could be that you have the wrong size? I find skimpier cut should be a little more fitted.

  11. Hey! I was thinking about getting a bikini and was wondering what size i should get. I'm usually a size 4 in bottoms and a small or medium in tops

    1. I'm a 4 now and go with the size small top and bottom and they're quite fitted. If you want a little space to move go a medium :)

  12. How many followers on Instagram did you have when you did a collaboration with Khongboon? I was thinking about reaching out to them because I have a blog, but I don't have many instagram followers.

    1. Hi Betty,
      The small should be fine.
I'm usually a 4-6 and the medium fits me snug, I could lose 3kg and the medium would still fit me fine.

    2. Okay perfect! Thank you so much, I'm very excited to purchase one!!

  18. Hey,
In Seafolly bikinis i'm a size 6 on the top and 8 on the bottom (Australian sizing)
I'm not sure what size I should get? I'm currently thinking a size XS on top and S on bottom but the ones i want to get have a cheeky cut bottom so thinking maybe a M is the way to go? :) xx

    1. I would go the small, i'm a 10 in seafolly and wear the medium. I can fit into the small but i like a little more room in there.
Both the top and bottoms in a small should fit you fine :)

  19. This seems to be one of the few forums where one can leave honest feedback - I left a negative comment for them on Facebook and they have deleted it and blocked me, and there is no way to review their product if you are dissatisfied (this gives you an idea of the kind of business they are).

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS BRAND: If I could leave a review I would - but emails are selectively sent to customers to review the product - no wonder they have a perfect record (it is a selected cross section of the orders they have completed - obviously the chance to review is not even given to dissatisfied customers)

Of the 3 orders I have put in with them, none of them have been completed successfully. The first, wasn't even sent until after the 23 business day shipping period had elapsed and I sent a follow up email asking where my order was and was told they had missed it and would reship it then.

A year later I risked ordering with them again on the sale period, and the system outputted my address incorrectly (as a different suburb than the one I live in). I immediately sent an email to customer service asking they correct the address on the order - this was ignored and I never received a response. Luckily Australia Post managed to figure out that there was no road with the name I had listed in the incorrect suburb and called me to ask if the address was correct - no help from Khongboon here!

Finally I wanted a different size top to match the set I had previously ordered (above)^. This time the address didn't just mess up the suburb - it shipped to America (I am an Australian customer)! After email Khongboon customer service I was assured that it would be redirected or re-shipped and when I asked how long that would take I was assured "Our website says 10-23 business days for standard deliveries worldwide. So should arrive within any day now to your doorstep."

After waiting 25 business days I emailed again asking where the order was and received the response "Should arrive any day now, been delays sadly locally on all shipments during last weeks of September. Apologies for the delay."

After waiting the 30 working days I sent a follow up email asking where it was, only to be told it had NOT been redirected OR reshipped (even though I provided the correct address via email a month earlier!) and was in the USA.

Customer service (Alexander) finally offered (after another week of correspondence) to re-ship the order with express shipping (2-3 days) and a free pair of bathers - and I was satisfied. Noting that I placed my order on the 23/09, and this resolution was reached on the 11/11 - 7 weeks after my order was placed.

Finally I received the package only to find IT WAS THE WRONG ORDER! They had managed to express ship me an incorrect package! ONCE AGAIN I emailed customer service - and again it took another 5 days of correspondence before Alexander said she would re-ship the order. When I asked how long it would take she stated ANOTHER 2 WEEKS! I emailed her saying it was unacceptable and I have now been waiting 8.5 weeks for the order and another 2 weeks is outrageous. Plus I leave for a holiday and now (due to the order taking DOUBLE the stated order time) - my set will not have arrived. She responded saying 10 days was 'fine' - not even concerned that she has a highly dissatisfied customer.

It has now been over 2 months (including 1.5 months of useless correspondence with the customer service team) and I STILL have not received my order. My STRONG recommendation would be - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS BRAND.

  20. hey!

thanks for taking the time to comment, i embrace negative feedback about brands because it's only fair that people get a fair and not biased review on a product. After i made this post i did have a package go missing, they then had sold out of the style i wanted and had to pick a new one - i ended up liking my replacement more! I can tell you now that i no longer get my Khongboon directly from Thiailand but an Australian reseller http://www.letsgetfunkedup.com.au/
they have amazing customer service and are based in Sydney. it works out cheaper because we now don't have to convert our AUD to USD o nthe Khongboon website.

You should never have had to wait that long to reach a resolution, and they blocked you? how crazy! Triangl blocked me and threatened to sue me over a negative review on my blog. I told their lawyers i wold go after them for harassment and emotional damages if Triangl didn't leave me and my blog alone.

Don't give up on the totally cute cheeky designs! there are other ways! s bikini lovers have to stick together :)
If you ever want any tips or advice for bikini shopping - hit me up - chances are i've shopped there before or can find you a better deal

  21. I am wanting to buy a swim suit but worried about sizing. I read all the comments, but most didn't help as I am in American sizes. Any way you could help out? I wear 34C bra and normally M bottoms. The measurements off their site has me needing a L top and XL bottom.. that just doesn't seem right to me...

    1. I don't think you will fit into a medium. Im he equivalent of a 32C/D and the medium fits me, anything bigger won't fit. Some of the styles are completely adjustable too. I think you should go for the large top.
As for the bottoms, I wear a medium and I'm a size 4-6 us sizing and they fit pretty good.

      Hope this helps!

    2. Also I wanted to add, these bikinis are made in Thailand. Asian made bikinis are always smaller than American or Australian made bikinis. Also being a cheeky cut they are smaller too.
Don't forget to take these into consideration.

  22. Great post! I was reading online that the sizing is kinda small, would you agree with this? I'm usually a size US 4-6 would you recommend going a size medium? Thanks in advance x
