Best Body Lotions

With Summer well and truly on its way Down Under i've put together a little something something of my favourite moisturising creams that i use daily and to prepare my skin for a tan. Or if i'm really feeling up to is and pampering myself.

I will freely admit that i adore anything that comes out of the House of Frank and this body cream is now one of my favourites.
I wish i could use it daily but because it's so expensive i'm a bit scared to use it all so quickly! It's got Frank's signature coffee scent to get you going first thing in the morning and added coconut oil and other oils to add back the moisture into your skin. It retails at $21.95

MOR Marshmallow Body Cream is an off white colored cream that is softly whipped designed for intense absorption. MOR is collaboration between Australian designers, Dianna Burmas and Deon St. Mor. I highly recommend this scented deep moisturizing product for those with very dry skin and would like the body cream to have a nice soft floral fragrance.Retails at $34 although i did get mine on sale for $10 from a cosmetic store.

Reef Sun has some of the nicest tanning oils that have been around for a very long time, so it is possible to say they've successfully done it again with their Coconut Body Butter. I use it daily (on my elbows) for soft and supple skin. It smells like heaven and really i just sit there smelling myself for about 5 minutes afterwards. It's thicker then the top two creams in my opinion and by far my favourite to date. contains vitamin E and aloe vera in a creamy non-greasy formulation that is moisturising and keep's skin soft, hydrated and supple. I'm pretty sure this tub retails at $12 or something like that. Quite affordable.

Nivea released their Q10 Moisterising cream a few years ago. I've found it helps when it get sun burnt. As it's such a light cream it goes on light and doesn't feel heavy on the burns. As for the firming side of the cream, i've never noticed it actually assist in firming my skin - although i've never used it routinely like you're supposed to to se the results. While i've seen and heard many reviews about the firming aspect i have heard this quote from Paula's Choice "This body lotion makes skin feel firmer and tighter due to its alcohol content. The drying effect of alcohol coupled with the high amount of glycerin this contains can make skin feel tighter as it dries, but it’s a fleeting, cosmetic sensation rather than your skin actually becoming firmer." Retails at $10

Bali Body's tanning oils have been a huge success - especially the cocoa tanning oil,  love it so much i just ordered another one today before my current one is out. The Bali Body's Luxe Moisturising Lotion is a bit of a rip off compared to others on the market at price value. You're paying for the packaging and the brand name - both of which i do adore. There's not much in the bottle (110ml), the smell isn't that great but it is light enough that i can put it on my face without breaking out - which is heaven for me and just about everything makes me break out. Free from artificial fragrance, parabens and synthetic chemicals this luxe body lotion will leave you with a fresh, light grapefruit scent, perfect for everyday use (but be prepared - it probably wont last very long if you use it daily and it is currently sold out). Instagram babes are raving about this product. Retails at $18.

Myra Swim Review

Trawling through Google trying to find a decent review on Myra Swimwear. I've found one, but it wasn't quite what i was after. If i'm going to spend so much money on a tiny bikini i want to ve reassured when i make that purchase i'm going to love it.
I've had an issue with their customer service in the past, unfortunately the owner threatened to block me after i asked another girl her size on Myra's instagram post. The other girl commented on how she believes "they're obviously made in Asia and the sizes were fucked". The owner - said if i couldn't just email her team my questions and kept asking them on instagram she would block me. I spoke to the other girl privately about the owners threat and the girl must have gone back to the owner because then the owner came back at me and had a go at me "for sending my friends after her".  I have not made a purchase from them again.  Seriously who would want to after that experience!

I have an Elle one piece in the medium and it barely fits my size 8-10 frame, i have also tried one of the older bikini styles and it looked fucking awful on me. I cried when i saw my reflection i was so disappointed. I had wanted this bikini for soooooo long. So now i'm torn between purchasing one of the newer bikini sets (but i have no idea what size to get, their sizes don't seem to be accurate) or sticking to my guns and not purchasing anything due to my negative experience with their customer service.

No Weigh In December

{source}

Can i just say that i don't normally weigh myself much at all, only when i feel like i've gained weight to i even look in the same direction as the scales at my mums, i don;t even own my own set. I am kinda a few days late, okay nearly two weeks late in sharing this BUT December is a month full of happiness, stresses and good food.. I believe that it's stupid to add to more stresses with trying to lose weight and reach your goal number on the scales. No matter what age you are, this time of the year you likely have a stress whether it be a bunch of finals or  targets at work, Christmas presents or  bills. There's no need to add to that stress with probably unreasonable expectations.

Don’t get me wrong, I am still going to work towards my goal and push hard towards it, but i'm not going to track it. If I don’t reach that goal - it will be ok as long as I know I worked hard and ate well throughout the month.

Join Me on my No-Weigh December? Do you think you can last the month without access to a scale? I know that i can!

Moana Bikini Paradise Found Review

Today i spent the afternoon at the river with Monty trying not to get too burnt, i now smell like chocolate thanks to my Bali Body Cocoa tanning oil (which is amazing and i just ordered more!)
I got to try out my new Moana Bikini. Moana doesn't come cheap at all and sometimes i feel like it's totally a rip off but then i remember how much i love the material on my skin and the colours and styles aren't like any other brand. Then i'm totally okay with forking out $175 for this bikini.

I'm wearing the currently sold out Skittel Bottoms but due to be restocked on the 10th of December, right on time for last minute Christmas shopping for your lovely ladies. Also not pictured in these photos was the matching mix and match Double Knot Vela top which fits just like a charm!

There also may or may not have been some skinny dipping followed after these photos as well. Makes for a very risky swim, luckily for us, we were the only ones down this end of the bend.
I wear a medium in all of Moana's styles, they're made a lot small so the really petite and younger girls are able to wear them as well.

I've also ordered the Sushi Roll bottoms from eBay because it turns out there was a girl selling a few of the styles brand new for $10-15 less then Moana was. Needless to say i'm now folloing her for updates on other styles that she's going to upload. Seriously hate the fact that the tax isn't included in the advertised price! I thought it should be since it's owned and run by an Australian in Australia!
So the Sushi bottoms are only going to be $83 from eBay instead of $94 and they should actually arrive faster then this latest bikini because there wasn't a mad rush to buy them. Praise the lord someone was looking after my bank account.

#motivationmonday Elizabeth Gilbert

Elizabeth Gilbert was once an "unpublished diner waitress," devastated by rejection letters. And yet, in the wake of the success of 'Eat, Pray, Love,' she found herself identifying strongly with her former self. With beautiful insight, Gilbert reflects on why success can be as disorienting as failure and offers a simple -- though hard -- way to carry on, regardless of outcomes.

November | Wish List

Sorry i missed a month guys! things have been so hectic at home with the renovating and switching to a new department at work. It can only get better right? yeah yeah!

My wishes this month are

1. For mangoes to be more affordable!
i went to the fruit and veggie markets last weekend and a box of mangoes was seriously $44.

2. Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Estes

"If you say how lovely she is, or how beautiful her art is, or compliment anything else her soul took part in, inspired, or suffused, something in her mind says she is undeserving and you, the complimentor, are an idiot for thinking such a thing to begin with. Rather than understand that the beauty of her soul shines through when she is being herself, the woman changes the subject and effectively snatches nourishment away from the soul-self, which thrives on being acknowledged"

3. A new tattoo.
This one is probably not going to happen this month but i have some really cute idea for the future that i'm just not ready to share with you all yet! BUT i'm planning!

Mine Tan Review

I have been getting quite a few emails asking me what tanning products i use. Since i'm so pale and don't live near the beach at all i have to tan in my back yard or down at the river for weeks on end to get even the slightest bit of a tan. When i'm in need of a quick fix i'll usually jump straight to Mine Tan purely because it's quick and easy, doesn't stain anything and it's so affordable! use my discount MAD20 for 20% off your order! yay

October | Best Purchase

{source - Facebook.com}

The incredible writer of the now famous Eat Pray Love -  Elizabeth Gilbert shares quotes from her upcoming book, Big Magic, on her Instagram and Facebook accounts — and they are just too good not to share. I've read it a few times already now and i've had it less then a week, i just couldn't put it down. Each time i read it i pick up more and more from it that i didn't see the first time. And as Gilbert writes in Big Magic, "If you're alive, you're a creative person."

I purchased this book on the last day of October and it's by far the best money i've spent in a long time. Some of the quotes are just incredible.

"Readers of all ages and walks of life have drawn inspiration and empowerment from Elizabeth Gilbert’s books for years. Now this beloved author digs deep into her own generative process to share her wisdom and unique perspective about creativity. With profound empathy and radiant generosity, she offers potent insights into the mysterious nature of inspiration. She asks us to embrace our curiosity and let go of needless suffering. She shows us how to tackle what we most love, and how to face down what we most fear. She discusses the attitudes, approaches, and habits we need in order to live our most creative lives. Balancing between soulful spirituality and cheerful pragmatism, Gilbert encourages us to uncover the “strange jewels” that are hidden within each of us. Whether we are looking to write a book, make art, find new ways to address challenges in our work, embark on a dream long deferred, or simply infuse our everyday lives with more mindfulness and passion, Big Magic cracks open a world of wonder and joy."

My Thoughs on Essena O'neill Quitting Social Media

Well this was interesting to watch. In my option - Essena is a young girl who makes her decisions on her emotions - like all teenage girls. I remember feeling like what Essena says she feels and i wasn't Instagram famous. Responding to her feelings like this has caused a lot of drama and Essena losing a lot of friends and potentially burning bridges with businesses and companies in the processes. I wouldn't want to hire her after she said those things about other companies online.

Her follower count on instagram has skyrocked to nearly 1 million followers before i'm pretty sure being removed completely today. I just went to double check the followers to not be able to find it at all. Could this be a marketing tool to rebrand herself and gain more fame and publicity? if it was, it worked!

The pressure of being Instafamous was just too much for her and unfortunately she didn't have a wonderful support network to help her get through this point in her life.

It's awful that Essena has now put herself in a position where she is asking for money because her sole income was social media and now she can't afford her rent. I would think that if Essena was getting offered $1,000 for a photo on instagram she would have saved a lot of money to save for the future. But i guess when i was 19 saving money was the last thing on my mind.

I appreciated her photos because they were beautiful.

One of the things that stands out to me the most is Essena created a set plan and gave it out online for girls to get fit when she first started to grow bigger online - i'm fairly certain i have a print out hidden somewhere in my room of it too, but now it turns out that she wasn't following it herself to look like that and she was staying that fit looking by using unhealthy measures! that makes me feel heaps better that i worked my ass off using the healthy method for it not to work! That it just wasn't possible for me to look like that without a full time gym membership, calorie restrictions and no sugar ever. She's the one who created the fake online persona when all Essena was saying is that she is sharing herself online - no she was sharing her persona that she created for more publicity.

I love social media, i love using it and uploading photos and seeing what everyone else is up to. I love being connected to the world using social media.  I don't let it control my life and it's my hobby - i spend my free time checking it out because i enjoy it! some days i really feel like giving up purely because it is a lot of hard work that goes into composing my photos and blog posts, i've not touched my blog in weeks because it was late at night and i would rather cuddle my boyfriend. I'll always remember that my life is real and social media is just that, social media. I've never believed that it was all real ever, my parents taught me better then that.

Khongboon Swimwear Review | Swimwear Feature

I was lucky enough to get asked to collab with Khongboon Swimwear again and this time i chose one of the high waisted bikinis - the Bova - right now you can get it from the Khongboon Swimwear Website for half price. Usually they're around $98USD for the set but right now and for a very limited time only you can get it for less then $50.

Use my code - collabfab15 to get 15% off your next purchase with free shipping.

I purely ordered this bikini because i saw how good it looked on a girl in a photo i found on tumblr - i am yet to find the girl in the photo to follow her, but she was absolutely rocking it and i only hope it looks half as good on me as it does on her.

Not gunna lie - just spent 15 minutes looking for it online - here it is!

After ordering it through their customer service team it took less then two weeks to arrive to my door step and right in time for the long weekend - that's going to be 30 degrees all weekend too! I got to prance around in the sun wearing my new bikini all day. My sister was kind enough to take some photos for me to share! I love Khongboon and will always be a loyal customer, i'm loving the new 2015 designs they have just released and hopefully i'll get to join in on all the fun with that range soon.

So without further adieu here's my photo diary for today!
